Nødpass

Ved tap av pass i Costa Rica og Panama, hvor Norge har honorære generalkonsulater, kan søknader om nødpass og tapsmeldinger leveres ved konsulatet for videreforsendelse til ambassaden i Managua. Ambassaden utsteder nødpasset og sender det tilbake til de honorære generalkonsulatene med DHL. Denne prosessen vil normalt ta ca. 5 arbeidsdager.

If you loose your passport in Costa Rica and Panama, you can present your application for an emergency passport, and report of the loss of your passport, at our honorary consulate generals. The Consulate will forward the documentation to the Norwegian Embassy in Managua for the issuing of a temporary, emergency passport for your further travel and return to Norway. After the issuing, the passport will be sent by DHL to the Consulate. This process will take about 5 working days.

N.B. PLEASE NOTE! Temporary and emergency passports will no longer be eligible for visa waiver travel to the US after July 1, 2009.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection guidance states:

Effective July 1, 2009, Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries' emergency and temporary passports will be subject to the electronic passport (e-passport) requirement. Any VWP national or citizen intending to apply for admission under the VWP with an emergency or temporary passport that is issued on/after October 26, 2006, and which is not an e-passport, will be required to apply for a U.S. visa prior to travel or apply for a waiver at a U.S. port of entry.

Vennligst gå snarest til ambassaden eller det honorære generalkonsulatet i Costa Rica eller Panama, evt.ring og avtal tid. Adresser og telefonnumrene følger nedenfor.

Ta med gyldig ID med foto, 2 passbilder (må ikke vise tenner) og politirapport for tapet av passet. Vennligst fyll inn passøknad-skjemaet og tapsmeldingen tydelig og korrekt, for den videre behandling. I tillegg skal hovedskjemaet for passøknader medsendes i undertegnet stand med sort penn i det blå feltet. Alle søknadspapirer og formular for tap av pass kan fås av ambassaden og/eller generalkonsulatene. Passgebyret på NOK 450,- betales i lokal valuta ved innlevering av søknaden.

Please present yourself at the honorary Consulate General in Costa Rica or Panama, or the Embassy in Managua, depending where you lost your passport, or call for appointment. The addresses and phone numbers follows below.

Bring a valid id with photo, 2 passport photos (mouth should be closed) and the police report. Please fill in the passport application correctly with block letters, for the best possible further processing. In addition, the main passport application form will have to be signed with a black pen in the blue square. All the application forms and the form for lost passport can be obtained at the Consulates or the Embassy. The current passport fee is NOK 450,- which will have to be paid in local currency when you deliver the application.

Det gjøres oppmerksom på at for norske i Costa Rica, Panama og Nicaragua, som ønsker å presentere passøknad for vanlig pass i denne regionen, må vedkommende personlig møte ved Ambassaden i Managua for levering av søknad og opptak av biometri.

Please note that applications for the new biometric passports can only be presented in person to the Foreign Missions who have been authorized and received the necessary equipment for such processing. As regards Norwegians in Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua, it is only the Norwegian Embassy in Managua who may assist in such processing.
